Conduct consumption tests on all patients admitted to the hospital and their accompanying family members

The purpose of this strategy is to identify alcohol consumption that may go unnoticed during conventional hospital care. Early detection is considered crucial for proactively addressing potential issues related to consumption, allowing for personalized and timely interventions. For this, one of the tests already validated in our context may be used, such as the Audit-C or CAGE.

The implementation of these tests not only focuses on the patient but also extends to accompanying family members, recognizing the influence of the social environment on consumption habits. Early detection in this group can also provide valuable information to offer support to the family and optimize comprehensive care.
